Intro to German for Younger Students

11 students enrolled

The Sheep that Wants to Learn Cow

After working hard through an entire module, you deserve a little reward! The final lesson of each module is a short movie. It may have something to do with the vocabulary from the week, or it may just be simple enough that I think you can follow what is going on and maybe pick out a few words. I believe you will get the most out of these videos if you watch them first, then look over the vocabulary I share after the video and then rewatch it.

I won’t translate all of the movie. Instead, I will pull out a few words, phrases or sentences for you to practice and listen for. Part of the point of these is for you to get used to listening and watching carefully for context clues and (this may sound a little strange) for you to get used to not understanding every word but still get the gist of what is going on.

In this module, you really just got yourself organized and ready to begin, but you still get rewarded with a movie! And this one doesn’t even require any German knowledge. It’s about a sheep that doesn’t quite fit in because it speaks cow.

This course introduces German to younger students through stories, songs and short videos, many of which are the very same stories and songs loved by German children. Each week will have new songs and stories based on a vocabulary theme. Instructions for how to enroll are below! (If you have an older student ready for something closer to high school German, check out my free online German course for high school.)
