This year, there will be no lessons. No study of the pilgrims, nor Native Americans, nor other significant historical Thanksgivings.
There will be no plays, nor poems, nor essays, nor even word searches.
There will only be turkey, and lots of it.
And for that break I am truly thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Welcome to Roscommon Acres, my little home in the country. I write here about life more abundantly, from the joy of a baby’s smile to the almost unbearable grief of losing a son. I am seeking beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, a garment of praise instead of the spirit of despair (Isaiah 61:3).

Just place "Tiggy" in the subject line.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Enjoy the break and of course the turkey.
Thank you and you, too!
Enjoy! Sometimes that is so very needed–simply enjoying the moment, engaging in what is and setting aside deliberate activities/thinking/involvement.
On a side–I must admit that now that my son has returned to school I am so very saddened that NOTHING is even mentioned about the holiday in the classroom, let alone any kind of a classroom celebration. And this happened last year when we tried the small, private, Montessori setting as well
I hope you had as great a thanksgiving in the warmth and love of family as I did. I have been so blessed. I have so much to be thankful for from God. I deeply appreciate your excellent work.
Yes, I agree totally with you on this one. It was nice to have a peaceful, relaxing Thanksgiving this year.
