The Carnival of Homeschooling is posted at Why Homeschool!  I haven’t had time to look through everything, yet, but here are a few posts which caught my eye.  Don’t forget to send in your submissions for next week.  The Carnival of Homeschooling will be hosted right here at Principled Discovery!  Use the handy dandy submission form, and you should hear back from me in a day or two.  I’ll try not to land in the hospital on the eve of the carnival this time around.

Homeschool When No One is Around.  That is my kind of homeschool.  OK, not really, but what do our children learn when the teacher has a sick day?  Every now and again, we have a day like that and school will be postponed.  Not because I’m sick, but because the children are engaged in some interesting and creative endeavor in which they are working and playing and giggling together.  Life lessons sometimes trump whatever I’ve come up with them to do for the day.

Maybe it is just because my kids are in T-ball and softball now, but I enjoyed Life Lessons in Baseball.  We’ve had a few lessons in community around here lately running along a baseball theme as well.  I wonder how many ways parenting is like a game of catch?

Run your own ooey, gooey, messy, homeschool summer art camp.  We have a lot of work planned for this summer as we fix up an old house on two and a half acres.  Maybe I can run the art camp alongside the work camp?

When homeschool kids ask to go to school.  A little public school envy?  Children aren’t always asking for what you think they are asking.  My daughter “hates” homeschool.  But all she identifies as “homeschool” is when we do spelling or copywork.  Everything else is just life.  I think she’s tired of me reminding her “this is homeschool, too.”
