Three models of multi-purpose butane lighters sold at Wal-Mart under the brand name The Grill Company® have been recalled. They come in several colors (see picture). If you have purchased one of these lighters, discontinue use and contact CFM toll-free at (866) 333-4833 between 9AM and 5PM ET Monday through Friday.
They are missing the following warning label in English:
Failure to follow these instructions could result in injury.
Whoever would have thought a lighter would be flammable? And the sign hanging up at Wal-Mart really did say “discontinue use.” Be safe, and please don’t catch anyone on fire while waiting for your sticker.

Welcome to Roscommon Acres, my little home in the country. I write here about life more abundantly, from the joy of a baby’s smile to the almost unbearable grief of losing a son. I am seeking beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, a garment of praise instead of the spirit of despair (Isaiah 61:3).

Just place "Tiggy" in the subject line.

I love that… “Do not use near open flame”. If I had an open flame,
I wouldn’t need a lighter, now, would I?
My Tylenol PM bottle saya “Warning: May cause drowsiness”. Yeah, that’s why I bought it!
Mama Says
Thanks for the chuckle this morning. But, if McDonald’s needs a warning that their coffee is hot.
Oh, and my last blow dryer cam with a warning not to use it while asleep.
Who thinks up these things?
So wait — can I use these while I’m sleeping near children? Someone please tell me with a warning label or else I’ll sue!
It says “KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.”
I want to make a new product label:
“If you use this product in an unconventional manner and refuse to take responsibility for your own stupidity, we would prefer you select another brand. Thank you.”
That covers about everything I can think of.
I’ve got to laugh, its the only thing keeping me from crying at the absurdness of it!
Or how about the prenatal vitimans that say “Do not use while pregnant without first consulting your physician.”
And Dana…I love your warning label idea! That is great!
